HEO is the world's first commercial in-orbit satellite inspection company. We help governments and commercial organizations to visually monitor their spacecraft and other space objects they care about. HEO provides on-demand non-Earth imagery and information on spacecraft of interest, enabling space players to make informed decisions confidently in both space and on Earth.
Utilizing our innovative software platform, HEO Inspect, we swiftly identify spacecraft and evaluate their status, operation, and any anomalous behavior. Additionally, HEO collaborates with Earth observation satellite constellations and also deploys its own non-Earth imagery (NEI) sensors as hosted payloads, with the aim of proliferating NEI sensors across all Earth orbits.
Headquartered in Sydney, Australia, we have subsidiaries in London, UK, and Washington DC, USA. We are seeking a candidate to join our team as a technical engineer to support our expansion into the Japanese market and act as a liaison between Japan and Australia, offering support to clients and partners based on comprehensive knowledge.
Technical Requirements:
- Extensive knowledge of satellite designs, sub-systems, and specifications
- Proficiency in optics and image processing
- Knowledge of physics and engineering related to space and the Earth's orbit environment.
- Knowledge of communication networks and IT technology.
- Mostly task driven but candidate needs strong curiosity to explore technical aspects of spacecraft, orbits, physics, open source data
Other Requirements:
- Native-level Japanese proficiency
- Business-level English proficiency
- Japanese citizenship
- Ability to create documents, reports, and presentation materials tailored to specific purposes
- Effective presentation skills for CxO level executives and large audiences
- Ability to plan and achieve results steadily, even in a remote work environment, by scheduling tasks effectively towards given objectives.
- Hybrid work: 2-3 times per week in the office and customer meetings, but also work from home
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally, stay in Australia for a few weeks for training
- Strong communication skills, the ability to quickly adapt to our company culture, and the capability to build the necessary relationships to effectively carry out your duties.
- Ability to communicate effectively using tools such as Slack, Google Workspace, etc.
- Ability to document and manage your daily tasks using services like GitHub, JIRA, and Confluence.
